Chapter 6 Response: I would prefer to teach in a classroom that has more digital technologies. Having more digital technologies in the classroom would enable myself as a teacher to do activities such as uploading pictures onto the smart board, lettings students play with iPads and computers to explore different places or things they could not experience solely inside the classroom, and many other opportunities! Technology in the classroom allows students to grow as individuals, and explore different dimensions of learning at their own pace. Devices such as scanners, electronic whiteboards, microphones, cameras, and computers lets the students interact more and be more involved in the learning, opposed a classroom that uses no technologies and solely lectures.  For example, in the book the authors describe using a digital camera in the classroom. A digital camera can be used to take pictures and record videos.  teachers would be able to integrate them into their lesson plans by having the students take pictures outside, and draw them in the classroom. Or have students record videos. There are so many possibilities! Another positive outlook on having technology in the classroom would be that it allows all students to learn. Many students who have learning disabilities are unable to participate in daily classroom routines and assignments because they either cannot speak, hear, write, or have many other disadvantages. Technology opens the door for these students to be able to interact in a general classroom, and learn at the same time. Overall, technology allows everyone to participate and learn in the classroom, and it expands all the possibilities for both teachers and students.

Chapter 11 Response: Different types of Audiovisual Technologies have available for years, and other technologies are new and emerging. One type of audio technology that has been around for a while is the cassette recorder and CD player. While these technologies have been around for awhile, we could still use them in today's classroom. One way we could use cassette recorders would be to have students record themselves maybe during a speech or having a conversation, and then have them listen to what they said and make self corrections. These types of audio technologies are very easy to use for students. One type of of new audio technologies would be a DVD player. DVD players are great in the classroom because you can show students movies, documentaries, and many other types of films that would incorporate into the classroom. DVD players are especially handy because you can stop at any time during the show, and start right where you left off without having to fast forward or rewind. One type of traditional visual technology would be bulletin boards. These were great for teachers to make the classroom more colorful, and incorporate the lessons onto the board. One way to use bulletin boards in the classroom could be to let students display their artwork on the bulletin boards, or have a class schedule on the bulletin board along with rules and expectations. A newer visual technology would be a photo galleries on the internet. The internet is a great resource for students to look at images they need for their projects, with the right parental controls and protection, students have the possibility of exploring virtually anything and it is right in front of them in an instant. Overall, whether the technologies are old or new, each one of them has a potential for being in the classroom!
